We run both L1 and L2 swim teaching courses throughout the year at various times and locations. Some courses are entirely face to face and some are blended with online theory and face to face practical.

This is a practical and theory based qualification. No previous experience is required, as this course covers all content needed to become a fully qualified swimming teacher.
Why do you need this qualification?
If you are 16 years or above, and would like to be able to work in the leisure industry as a swim teacher then this is the course for you!
How long does it last?
There is no expiry date on the SEQ Level 2 but it is recommended to regularly attend CPD courses to keep all knowledge relevant and up to date.

Learners must be 16 years or above. If you would like to give yourself a head start please consider completing one of the following qualifications:

Course Content
The course has a minimum of 38 guided learning hours. We run various iterations of this course throughout the year, some with more face to face, others with more online but whichever you choose you will still have plenty of opportunity for poolside practical! Our general courses are made up of a mixture of pre-course e-learning, face to face practical and online zoom sessions.
The course is split into 5 units, covering:
Unit 1: How to deliver swimming lessons within a safe environment
Unit 2: Understand the knowledge required for teaching swimming
Unit 3: The role of a Swimming Teacher
Unit 4: Plan swimming lessons
Unit 5: Deliver and evaluate swimming lessons
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is completed in 3 parts:
Written assessment portfolio
Online Multiple-choice question paper
Delivery of a minimum of 6 assessed swimming lessons
Your portfolio will include:
Six written lesson plans
One scheme of work
Written self evaluation
Written action plan
Throughout the learning process your tutor will keep you up to date with expected completion times for the portfolio. Some assessment tasks will be completed as part of the course, others must be completed as part of your off course hours. These tasks are mandatory and you must ensure you plan time for completion.
PLEASE NOTE YOUR MULTIPLE CHOICE EXAM MUST BE COMPLETED ON A LAPTOP OR COMPUTER WITH A WEBCAM. IT CANNOT BE COMPLETED ON A MOBILE DEVICE. PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE THE START OF THE COURSE IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE ORGANISING THIS.
